A personal message from Specialist Physical Therapist, Shannon Cobb
Specialist Physical Therapist
Hi, my name is Shannon Cobb and welcome to Dedicated Therapy.
Do you know an someone age 65+ who wants to keep golfing, gardening, traveling, but losing the energy and strength to do those things the way they want?
What about someone who has been given a “home exercise program” on some pages from a Physical Therapist to keep working on at discharge and have difficulty keeping up with it?
Do you know someone who has tried a group fitness class in the community or working out on your own at a gym, but didn’t stick with it because they didn't feel motivated to continue?
Lots of Older Adults find it hard to get into an exercise program they can stick with. It can be intimidating to go to a fitness center- with all the people and machines. It can be hard to find an exercise class that "meets them where they are" physically and mentally. It is hard to find the best place exercise if you are an Older Adult. That is why we offer a FREE Taster Session. In this Session, you can meet with a Physical Therapist and learn about our Group Exercise Classes and our Assessment process to determine what is the best classes to meet you where you are right now. In this Session we will also show you how we can help you continue to improve through our Physical Therapist designed programs.
At Dedicated Therapy we know that it is hard to find an exercise program that is built for Older Adults. Our Clinic is not just about providing specialized Physical Therapy services. I opened this clinic because, as a therapist, I found that the support for people when Physical Therapy is over is missing. A few pages of the same old exercises to do all by your self is NOT effective. It is hard to keep doing the same thing over and over again. And, to be able to improve, you need to be consistently challenged. A stagnant page of exercises can never do that. We know that a dynamic program of exercise that is fun to do helps a person stay active and keep improving.
Our exercise classes are supervised by a Physical Therapist and are designed to meet the particular needs of the people we serve. We offer Grouphab® Group Exercise classes specifically designed by a Physical Therapist for Older Adults. We also know that if you have a neurological diagnosis, like Stroke, Brain Injury or Parkinson’s Disease, you have particular needs. Our Classes are supervised by a Physical Therapist who knows that addressing multiple systems makes the biggest impact on function. Some of those systems include: Balance-Strength-Cardio-Coordination-Hand and Voice exercises for Cognition: multitasking, Memory, Thinking.
If you have been having a steady decline in your mobility and have had trouble with your balance, we are the place for you. If you liked the environment and the level of confidence you had when you were in therapy, our fitness options will feel just right to you too. Supervised by a Physical Therapist in a studio environment that feels like it was made for you.
Our exercise professionals are excited about teaching our classes. They KNOW that improvement can happen and have taken specific training designed by our Physical Therapists to provide classes to help you achieve this improvement. They work with our therapists to ensure that participants are getting the appropriate level of challenge in the areas that will benefit them most. They work with you – and people just like you- to help you do more.
Speaking of people just like you, being part of a group who has similar limitations and medical diagnoses helps you keep it going. Groups participating in our classes are a support system for each other- sharing all sorts of information to help each other. And, being part of a group helps you be accountable in keeping up with a program. In fact, we re-test all our participants every 6 months and from initiating the program to the first 6 month test, we have seen 25-50% improvement in our assessment items.
If you want help you find out if the place your are considering exercising can meet your specific needs, we are here to help you make that decision. So just click the button above to get your schedule your FREE Taster Session to help you find the right place for you to exercise.
This Free Taster Session is NOT for you if you feel that “this is a good as it can get”, or you don’t believe that more improvement is possible, or…
What would your life look like in a few months if you (or your loved one) could see more improvement in movement and function?
So go ahead... enter your first name, your email address and click “Yes! I Want My Free Taster Session” button to help us contact you.
There’s not catch…I’m doing this because I know that improvement is possible and is not limited by a time frame, and I believe that having the right support after Physical Therapy is over can help you continue to do all the things you love. All you have to do is enter your information and I’ll send it to you immediately.
Wishing You The Best,
Shannon Cobb, Physical Therapist/Owner Dedicated Therapy
