To help the people we serve, Survivors of Stroke/Brain Injury and People with Parkinson's, we have expanded our Online services to include our Fitness Classes. We want to help these people stay mobile, confident and independent.

Class Descriptions

Strength Rx (50 minutes):

Come get your daily dose of strength with this class that is designed for a total body workout! Every muscle will be worked during this hour with exercises that are performed while standing, seated, as well as on the floor. Some stretching will be included at the end of exercises.

 

Seated Strength Rx (25 minutes): 

Did you know that strength training can protect your bones, improve your posture, and reduce the risk of injuries? Come get your  "dose" of strength with this class that can be customized for you! This class will focus on the basics of strength training in varied positions, as well as some exercises for your core. Don't be afraid to join because education will be provided for each technique. Let's live strong together!

 

Neuro Cardio - Seated:

This class is a seated class to help you improve your aerobic condition.  It is designed to be participated in by people with one sided weakness from a stroke or brain injury.

 

Strength Rx Hemi:

Did you know that strength training can protect your bones, improve your posture, and reduce the risk of injuries? Come get your  "dose" of strength with this class that is customized for you! This class will focus on the basics of strength training in seated positions, as well as some exercises for your core. We will focus on using your less affected side. Don't be afraid to join because education will be provided for each technique. Get Stronger after Stroke!

 

Functional Fitness:

This class offers a combination of balance, coordination, cardio and strength exercises during the entire hour. Stretching will also be incorporated in order to increase range of motion. Let’s keep moving together!

 

ChairHab:

Our comprehensive class - only in seated!  Flexibility, aerobic conditioning, and strength exercises for the hour.

 

YogaHab Chair:

An excellent total body workout.  Emphasis on core strengthening, postural exercise, and ease of movement will also be a focus. This class is perfect for individuals looking to work on coordination and stretching, who may have an issue standing for long periods of time.

 

Neuro Moves 3:

This class takes place at Dedicated Therapy and is Live Streamed. This is a Circuit based class instructed by a Parkinson's Exercise Expert.  This class has a moderate to high level of challenge.  It is appropriate for those that do not need a walker or cane to get around.  It is also recommended that you not have a recent history of falls. 

 

Neuro Moves 1:

A slower paced class designed to challenge people with Parkinson's Disease.  Designed and instructed by a Physical Therapist, this class is appropriate for all people with Parkinson's disease.  There is an emphasis on flexibility, amplitude of movement, coordination, and cognition.
